Sanare (originally called SARC) became a registered charity in Canada on October 30, 2015. By July 2016, our counselling program grew by 350%. Sanare's services rely heavily on donations. Your support will help survivors heal from sexual trauma.

Cost of Sanare Programs
$75 – Provides 3 hours of consent and healthy relationship education for local teens grade 7-12
$100 – Supports a “Who Do You Tell?” presentation for a local grade K-6 class
$150 – Funds one hour of sexual trauma therapy for a survivor
$300 – Supports 1 hour of consent and healthy relationship education in a rural community
$1,800 – Supports one survivor’s journey through private sexual trauma specific counselling sessions
$2,400 – Provides survivors with 2 months of Positive Affirmation Through Healing (PATH), a weekly support group
$3,250 – Provides a 10-week psycho-ed group to help up to 10 survivors establish stability and safety
$3,500 – Covers the cost of a 12-hour preventative education program in a rural community (Healthy Relationships Program)
This new project began in Medicine Hat in Spring 2017. A Comfort Kit is a small care package that includes personal care and hygiene items. These kits are distributed at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital or Medicine Hat Victims Assistance Unit to people who have experienced a recent sexual assault.
Items needed for the kits:
- Toothbrushes & Toothpaste
- Shampoo & Conditioner
- Hairbrushes & Combs
- Feminine Hygiene Products
- Underwear (for women, children, and men of all sizes)
- Hand Cream
- Lip Balm
- Gift Cards for Tim Hortons (there is a shop inside the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital)
- Small Toys/Games for Children

Host A Fundraiser
Each year, hundreds of caring individuals, community and corporate groups help Sanare by hosting their own fundraising events. This year, as we all adapt to the new ways of doing things with COVID-19, we want to ensure you have the necessary tools and support you need to host a successful and safe event.
It is our goal to make giving back to your community easy, safe, and fun for you. Here are five steps to hosting a successful event!

Get in touch with us! We have an easy form to fill out that will help you get started. Once you have filled out this form please give us three working days to get back to you. Submit your fundraising event here.
STEP 3 – ENGAGE
Promote your fundraising event! If you are looking to encourage people to stay home and donate safely, you can share the donation link on our website. STEP 4 – HAVE FUN!
